Dhaka, Dec. 15 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) says it is not yet clear whether those involved in the shooting of Inqilab Moncho Convenor Sharif Osman Hadi in Dhaka had escaped to neighbouring India through the Mymensingh border.

Speaking to reporters at the Khagdohar BGB camp in Mymensingh on Monday, Col Sarkar Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman, a BGB sector commander, said on Monday that there was no confirmation that the attackers had crossed the border.

Hadi, a prospective parliamentary election candidate in the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot in the head in the capital's Bijoynagar area on Dec 12 and remains in critical condition.
