Dhaka, June 9 -- The director general of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has reached Delhi to attend the first round of the biannual Director General-level talks with India's Border Security Force (BSF), reports The Hindu.

The meeting started on Monday, and is scheduled to continue until Jun 11.

It comes amid rising tensions between the two border forces over Bangladesh's allegations that the BSF has been "pushing" undocumented individuals across the border through multiple land entry points.

Dhaka said the practice of "push-in" bypasses the formal deportation process. The issue remains a key agenda item for the BGB.
