Dhaka, March 8 -- Air travellers and airlines face higher costs as Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) implements a new jet fuel pricing structure for March.

According to a commission notice issued on Sunday, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has been set at Tk 112.41 per litre, a sharp increase of Tk 17.29 from February's rate of Tk 95.12.

For international routes, on the other hand, the price has been adjusted to $0.7384 per litre, up from $0.62 in the previous month, marking a hike of approximately $0.12 per litre.

The regulator said the adjustment was based on the average Platts rate in the international market from Feb 5 to Mar 4.
