Dhaka, April 3 -- A 42-year-old Bangladeshi woman working at a Florida superstore has been fatally attacked with a hammer, according to her employer.

The incident took place around 7:30am local time on Thursday in Fort Myers City, store owner Arif Ahmed Ashraf said.

Nilufar Yasmin, the victim, was originally from Lakshmipur's Sadar Upazila.

Employed at "D&D Convenience Store", where she joined six months ago, Nilufar was living in Fort Myers with her two daughters after parting ways with her husband.

Police arrested a suspect identified as Rolbert Joachin, 40, over the killing.

A video of the attack went viral on social media. It shows a man using a hammer to smash the window of a car parked outside the store.
