Bangladesh vows zero tolerance on human trafficking, online scams: home minister
Dhaka, July 30 -- Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said protecting citizens from human trafficking and tech-driven crime remains a top priority for the government.
The government is firmly committed to maintaining a "zero tolerance" policy against international trafficking and scam syndicates that exploit technology, he said at an event in Dhaka on Thursday to mark World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
Salahuddin noted that human trafficking patterns are shifting and growing increasingly complex.
Syndicates are no longer relying solely on traditional routes, but are turning to digital platforms, fake online recruitment portals, and social media networks to trap young jobseekers, he said.
