Dhaka, June 10 -- A Dhaka court has allowed the exhumation of the remains of film star Chowdhury Mohammad Shahriar Emon, popularly known as Salman Shah, in the presence of an executive magistrate to "unravel the mystery of his murder".

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana passed the order on May 24 following a petition by the investigating officer.

The development comes nearly 30 years after Salman's death.

"Following the investigating officer's request, the magistrate ordered the exhumation, preparation of an inquest and a post-mortem report in the presence of an executive magistrate," Prosecution Police Sub-Inspector Shah Alam told bdnews24.com.
