Dhaka, June 11 -- Bangladesh etched another first into their history books, clinching a first-ever ODI series victory over Australia with a composed five-wicket win in the rain-affected second match in Dhaka.

After electing to bat at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday, Australia were rocked early and never fully recovered, labouring to 182 for 8 in a contest shortened by weather interruptions.

Chasing a measly target, Bangladesh laid a solid foundation through Soumya Sarkar and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who each struck 42.
