Bangladesh, July 9 -- Bangladesh has reported two more deaths from dengue in the past 24 hours, while another 190 patients have been admitted to hospitals with the mosquito-borne disease.

The latest figures, published in the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) daily bulletin on Thursday, bring the number of dengue deaths this year to 24.

The bulletin shows that hospitals in Dhaka North City Corporation admitted 31 dengue patients during the reporting period, while hospitals under Dhaka South City Corporation admitted 40.

Outside the capital, Barishal Division recorded the highest number of new admissions with 48 patients.
