Dhaka, Oct. 27 -- Six more people have died of dengue fever in Bangladesh while 983 others have been admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours.
With the latest fatalities, the Aedes mosquito-borne disease has claimed 269 lives this year and the tally of hospital admissions rose to 66,423.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Monday, of the latest deaths, four occurred in Dhaka North, one in Dhaka South, and another in a hospital in Barishal.
In October alone, 71 people died of dengue, following the highest monthly toll of 76 fatalities recorded in September.
