Dhaka, May 4 -- Bangladesh has recorded 17 more deaths of children from measles and related symptoms in the last 24 hours, bringing the toll from the outbreak to 311.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) daily bulletin released on Monday, two of the latest deaths were diagnosed with measles, while the remaining 15 exhibited symptoms.
Since Mar 15, the health directorate has confirmed 52 deaths specifically from measles, while another 259 individuals have died with suspected symptoms.
Dhaka Division recorded the highest number of symptom-related fatalities at 127, followed by 70 in the Rajshahi Division.
The DGHS also revealed that 154 new measles cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
