Bangladesh records three dengue deaths, 458 hospitalisations in a day
Bangladesh, July 26 -- Bangladesh has reported three more deaths due to dengue in a 24-hour count, while 458 new patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease.
With the latest fatalities, the death toll from dengue has risen to 43 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Of them, 25 deaths have been recorded in the first 26 days of July.
The figures were published in the DGHS dengue bulletin issued on Sunday.
Among the newly hospitalised patients, 81 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and 76 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Another 15 patients were admitted to hospitals in the rest of Dhaka Division.
