Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- Over the past 24 hours, dengue has claimed four more lives in Bangladesh, raising this year's toll to 242, while 758 people were admitted to hospitals around the country.

According to Wednesday's Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin, three of the dead were treated at hospitals under the Dhaka South City Corporation, while one died in a hospital in Barishal Division.

The total hospital admissions rose to 57,015 this year.

September saw the highest admissions, with 15,866 patients and 76 deaths. Between Oct 1 and 15, hospitals recorded 9,673 admissions and 44 deaths.
