Dhaka, Nov. 16 -- Five more people have died of dengue fever in Bangladesh and 1,139 patients have been hospitalised with the disease in the past 24 hours.
The yearly tally of hospitalisations from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease has risen to 84,997, with 15,135 of them admitted in November alone.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Sunday, of the five dengue patients who died in the past 24 hours, two were admitted to hospitals in Mymensingh, and one each in Dhaka North and South city corporations.
In the first 16 days of November, dengue has claimed 58 lives. Until now, 336 people have died from the fever this year.
