Dhaka, Oct. 26 -- Another four people have died of dengue fever in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, pushing the nationwide death toll this year to 263.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin released on Sunday said the latest victims included three men and one woman.

They died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Patuakhali Medical College Hospital, and Barguna 250-bed Hospital, aged 58, 18, 80, and 23.

In the same period, 1,143 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals, taking the total number of hospitalisations in 2025 to 65,440.

October has seen the highest spike in dengue infections, with 18,098 admissions and 65 deaths.
