Dhaka, May 17 -- Bangladesh tightened their grip on the Sylhet Test with a day of relentless pressure, disciplined bowling and fearless batting, leaving Pakistan chasing shadows by the close of the second evening.

After skittling Pakistan for 232 and securing a first-innings lead of 46, the hosts raced to 110 for 3 in their second innings, swelling their overall advantage to 156 runs with seven wickets still intact on Sunday.

The day belonged first to Bangladesh's bowlers and then to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who answered mounting scrutiny in the most emphatic fashion.

Pakistan resumed under pressure and never truly escaped it.
