Dhaka, May 10 -- Dhaka University has appointed Associate Prof Md Israfil Ratan of the Department of Graphic Design as acting proctor.

Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul made the appointment on Sunday, the Public Relations Office said.

A notice from the administration drew attention to the rules and procedures regarding the duties of the proctor as outlined in Chapter 11 of the Dhaka University Calendar Part-2 (1997).

Earlier in the day, Saifuddin Ahmed, assistant professor of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, resigned from the post.
