Dhaka, June 7 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has remarked that "April is not suitable in any way" for the general election.

The BNP senior leader made the remarks to the media after presenting floral wreaths at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar at 11:30am on Eid Day on Saturday.

He said, "The time that has been set (April) is not the right time for elections in Bangladesh. Here (April) you will see extreme heat, storms and rain. that time is right after Ramadan. there are public exams. We do not think that this timeframe has been thought out very much."
