Dhaka, July 26 -- Police have arrested five people, including a leader of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, in allegations of extortion in Dhaka's Gulshan.
They were arrested from in front of a house in Gulshan No. 2 on Saturday evening, said Al Amin Hossein, additional deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Gulshan Division.
Four of the arrestees have been identified as Md Sakadaun Siam, 22, Sadman Sadar, 21, Md Ibrahim Hossain, 24, and Abdur Razzak Riad, 25.
The fifth is a minor and so his name, identity, and photo have not been released by the police.
Among the arrestees, Riad is among the joint conveners of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement's private university wing.
