Dhaka, April 11 -- Another infant has died with measles symptoms at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, raising concerns over a growing outbreak.

The child passed away in the hospital's intensive care unit on Friday afternoon while undergoing treatment, said Dr Mohammad Nure Alam Shamim, assistant director (disease control) at the divisional health office.

The 7-month-old child Dibya was from Fenchuganj Upazila.

This brings the number of child deaths with measles symptoms in the division this month to three, all of whom were under 1 year of age.

A report from the divisional health directorate on Saturday morning said one new measles case was confirmed in the last 24 hours.
