Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- The government has removed Tajul Islam from his post as chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) and appointed Md Aminul Islam in his place.
The law ministry announced the move in a notice on Monday.
According to the gazette, Aminul has been appointed chief prosecutor of the tribunal under Section 7 of the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act, 1973 to conduct cases until further orders.
He will enjoy the same status, salary, allowances and other benefits as the attorney general, the notice said.
The same order revoked the previous appointment of Tajul, which had been issued on Sept 5, 2024. The move takes immediate effect.
