Dhaka, March 15 -- An air ambulance carrying Prime Minister's Advisor Mirza Abbas has left Dhaka for Singapore for advanced treatment.

The aircraft departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:17am on Sunday, said Mizanur Rahman Sohel, Abbas's personal aide.

"It left at 11:17am and is expected to reach Singapore after a four-hour journey," he told bdnews24.com.

"He will be admitted to Singapore General Hospital."

The air ambulance had arrived in Dhaka from Singapore at 9:10am earlier in the day.

Abbas was taken to the airport by ambulance from Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara.

He is being accompanied by his wife Afroza Abbas, son Yasir Abbas and Evercare Hospital physician Dr Zafar Iqbal.
