Dhaka, Oct. 18 -- Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury, a Language Movement veteran, freedom fighter and politician, has died while undergoing treatment at the age of 90.
He passed away around 9:15pm on Friday after struggling with various age-related complications for a long time, according to his son-in-law Arifur Rahman.
Ahsan was an active participant in the Language Movement. During the Liberation War in 1971, when local students, workers, and residents resisted the unloading of weapons from the Pakistani ship "Swat" at the Chattogram port, he played a key role in organising the resistance.
