Dhaka, March 1 -- A case has been filed against small-screen actor Zaher Alvi following the discovery of his wife's body hanging in their Mirpur residence.

The case, lodged under allegations of "abetting suicide", also names Alvi's mother, Nasrin Sultana Shiuli, and his alleged girlfriend Iffat Ara Tithi as suspects, according to Pallabi Police chief AKM Alamgir Jahan.

The body of Alvi's wife, Afra Ibnat Ikra, was recovered on Saturday afternoon from their home in Mirpur DOHS.

Alvi has described his wife's death as a suicide.

While filming abroad, he posted on Facebook confirming that Ikra had taken her own life.

That same evening, a complaint was filed at Pallabi Police Station by Ikra's uncle Sheikh Tanvir Ahmed, accusing Alvi of "...
