Bangladesh, Sept. 6 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has begun verifying the asset declarations submitted by retired general Aziz Ahmed, a former army chief, and his wife Dilshad Nahar Kakoli.

ACC Assistant Director Shazzad Hossain has been appointed inquiry officer to verify and investigate their declared assets.

ACC Public Relations Officer Aktarul Islam confirmed the development to bdnews24.com on Sunday but no further details were provided.

According to ACC documents, the commission decided to appoint an inquiry officer and the director of Special Inquiry and Investigation-3 as the supervising officer to verify and investigate General Aziz's asset declaration.
