AC compressor blast leaves three technicians burnt at IEB
Dhaka, May 19 -- An explosion of an AC compressor during repairs at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) has left three technicians with burns at Dhaka's Ramna.
They were immediately taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery after the accident around 1:45pm on Tuesday.
The injured are Mamun, 38, Rasul, 30, and Ratan Chandra, 32 -- the first two identified by a single name.
Assistant Prof Shawon Bin Rahman of the institute said Mamun's body suffered 35 percent burns, Rasul's 6 percent and Ratan's 7 percent.
Among them, Mamun was admitted to the hospital while the others were discharged after first aid.
Ratan recounted that they were repairing the AC on the roof of the IEB hall room.
