700 Houthis killed in strikes: Yemen army
Dhaka, Oct. 4 -- Yemen's army has said it carried out 257 precision strikes against Houthi positions and movements, killing at least 700 rebels.
The military said Saturday that the operations targeted Sanaa, Midi, Baqim and front lines in al-Jawf, Marib, al-Bayda and Lahij, with the heaviest fighting around Taiz, Al Jazeera reports.
The army used warplanes, drones, artillery, missiles and rocket launchers in the operations, spokesman Col Majed Abdullah al-Nazili said in a post on X.
He said the strikes also destroyed 170 combat vehicles and other heavy equipment, but gave no figure for government casualties.
Al-Nazili said the operations had weakened the Houthis' ability to attack civilians in their homes and villages.
