Dhaka, March 7 -- The Islamic University (IU) administration has formed a five-member committee to investigate the murder of Asma Sadia Runa, the social welfare department chairman who was stabbed to death in her office.

The authorities held an emergency meeting on Saturday afternoon to form the committee. Acting Registrar Prof Manjurul Haque confirmed.

Prof Mizanoor Rahman of the accounting and information systems department has been appointed as the convenor, while Deputy Registrar Golam Mowla will serve as the member-secretary.

Other members of the committee include Prof Rashiduzzaman, Student Advisor Prof Obayedul Islam, and Lalon Shah Hall Provost Gazi Arifuzzaman Khan.
