Dhaka, March 11 -- A Jamalpur court has sentenced three people to death for the gang rape of a woman after tying up her husband.

Judge Mohammad Abdur Rahim of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal delivered the verdict on Wednesday afternoon.

He also fined each of the death row convicts Tk 100,000.

The court also sentenced them to life in prison on a separate charge in the same case.

The convicts are Faruk Hossain, 28, Mansur Ali, 25, and a minor. All three hailed from Rashidpur Union in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. Another local minor was acquitted in the case.
