Dhaka, Sept. 28 -- Three people have been killed and five others injured after a truck hit a passenger-bearing three-wheeler in Lalmonirhat's Patgram.

The accident occurred around 8am on Monday near Ghunti Bazar on the Burimari-Lalmonirhat Highway in Burimari Union.

Patgram Police chief Saiful Islam said three people were killed and five injured in the accident.

He could not immediately identify the dead.

Local residents said a truck travelling from Lalmonirhat towards Burimari rammed the three-wheeler from behind as they were both were heading in the same direction.

The impact caused the vehicle to veer out of control and crash into a roadside shop.
