Dhaka, Feb. 27 -- Four parliamentary candidates, representing Jamaat-e-Islami and the BNP, have moved the High Court seeking to annul the results of the Feb 12 general election in their respective constituencies.
The single-bench of Justice Md Zakir Hossain accepted the applications on Thursday and fixed the dates for the hearings.
The petitioners are Sunsila Jabrin Priyanka, who contested on a BNP ticket from the Sherpur-1 constituency, and Jamaat candidates Muhammad Abdul Mannan from Dhaka-6, Md Enayat Ullah from Dhaka-7, and Abdur Rahim Sarker from Gaibandha-4.
Under electoral law, candidates may challenge official results in the High Court.
