Dhaka, March 18 -- Three people have died after a microbus carrying passengers home for the Eid holidays veered out of control and crashed into a road divider on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway in Bogura's Sherpur, causing its gas cylinder to explode.

The incident occurred in the Chonka area of Bhabanipur Union around 7am on Wednesday, according to Sub-Inspector (SI) Noor Hossain of Sherpur Highway Police.

The vehicle was carrying 12 people, including the driver, according to the police and fire service. The nine others in the vehicle were burnt and injured in the accident.

The dead have been identified as Mominur Islam, 55, his sister Shiuli Begum, 45, and Md Tayeba, 15. They all hailed from Saluk Shahbag village in Rangpur's Kaunia Upazila...
