Dhaka, April 9 -- A Dhaka court has placed retired lieutenant general Sheikh Mamun Khaled, former director general of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), on a three-day remand for questioning in police custody in connection with the 2022 killing of BNP activist Mokbul Hossain.

The order was passed by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Jonaid following an application by the Detective Branch (DB) of police on Thursday.

Mamun was initially picked up by a DB team from the capital's Mirpur in the early hours of Mar 26.
