Dhaka, April 4 -- Netrokona is witnessing a sharp rise in patients showing measles symptoms.
In just one day, 23 patients sought treatment at the district hospital and Upazila complexes.
Civil Surgeon Golam Mawla said the total number of patients with measles symptoms and confirmed cases in the district has reached 67 over the past 11 days.
"By Thursday, 43 test samples were received from Dhaka, of which 10 were confirmed as measles cases," he said on Saturday.
"Among those affected, 70 percent are under nine months old, while 15-20 percent are under two years."
According to the district health department, 13 patients are admitted to hospital isolation wards.
Others are receiving treatment at home or have recovered and returned home...
