Dhaka, March 31 -- The government has appointed administrators to 14 more district councils, including Dhaka, as part of its ongoing restructuring of local government bodies.

The government issued a notification on Tuesday, confirming the appointments under the District Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024, and the District Council Act, 2000.

These administrators will serve full-time and exercise the powers of district council chairmen until further notice.

The districts that are gettin new administrators are Dhaka, Gazipur, Manikganj, Narsingdi, Faridpur, Chandpur, Feni, Habiganj, Jamalpur, Pabna, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Narail, and Barguna.
