Dhaka, Feb. 4 -- The government has appointed 1,051 executive magistrates to perform duties across Bangladesh during the Feb 12 general election and referendum.
The appointments were made through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday, granting the officials authority to conduct mobile courts.
According to the notification, the executive magistrates will be responsible for monitoring compliance with the electoral code of conduct, maintaining overall law and order in their assigned constituencies, preventing crimes, and working with law-enforcing agencies and striking forces, particularly the Border Guard Bangladesh and the Coast Guard.
