'Will get bail when I die,' says ex-MP Tuhin after being shown arrested over 'attempted murder'
Dhaka, May 21 -- Former reserved seat MP Sabina Akter Tuhin has formally been arrested in a case of attempt to murder during the July Uprising, with a court denying her bail the same day.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam passed the arrest order on Thursday on the investigating officer's application, Prosecution Division Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam said.
On her way to prison after the order, Tuhin told journalists: "Today is my child's birthday. With so many cases, how will I ever get out? I'll get bail when I die."
She had earlier been taken into custody on Jun 23 last year by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police from her home in Nawabganj, Dhaka, and sent to prison in an anti-terrorism case filed at Sher-e-...
