Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- The "Udayan Express" train has derailed in Sylhet's Moglabazar, snapping the rail links between Sylhet and the rest of the country.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning, according to Nurul Islam, manager of Sylhet Railway Station.
The train was headed from Chattogram to Sylhet when several carriages, including the locomotive, derailed in the Moglabazar area, he said.
"As a result of the train derailing, rail service between Sylhet and the rest of the country has been suspended. A rescue train is on the way. More details will be provided at a later time."
Nurul said the Udayan Express had been headed from Chattogram to Sylhet when the incident occurred.
