Bangladesh, Sept. 10 -- The Oikkoboddho Shikkharthi Jote backed by the Islami Chhatra Shibir has scored a resounding victory in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election.

Candidates from the panel won nine of the 12 secretary posts. The remaining three posts were secured by independent candidates.

Following a peaceful vote on Tuesday, the results were announced on Wednesday morning at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban by the chief returning officer for the DUCSU polls, Prof Jasim Uddin.

The winners from the Shibir-backed panel are:
