India, June 4 -- Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Khondoker Rashed Maqsood has announced his resignation after serving 21 months in office.
In a statement issued on Thursday, he said he was stepping down from the public position to focus on personal endeavors. During his tenure, the commission introduced a series of regulatory reforms, including the gazette notification of five new rules and the drafting of several key laws aimed at strengthening the country's capital market framework.
The outgoing chairman said the commission had taken significant steps to enhance market discipline, compliance, enforcement, investor education, and stakeholder engagement, leaving behind a revitalized regulatory institution....
