United Kingdom, May 11 -- TikTok users in the UK can now pay to remove adverts from the app for the first time ever.

The social media giant is introducing a new subscription option called TikTok Ad-Free, which will allow users to scroll through videos without seeing adverts for a monthly fee of £3.99.

The feature launches from May 11, although TikTok has confirmed the rollout will happen gradually over the coming months, meaning some users may not see the option immediately.

The subscription is completely optional, and TikTok will continue to offer its standard ad-supported version for free. The ad-free tier is only available to users aged 18 and over.
