United Kingdom, March 5 -- Uber is hoping to launch its flying taxi service in London by the end of the 2020s.

The transport firm 's chief product officer Sachin Kansal has suggested that the UK capital is a "very high priority market" for its new innovations.

He said: "London is going to be a very high priority market. we know our users [there] would love a feature like this, which will help them escape a lot of the traffic and be able to get from their home to the airport within a few minutes rather than hours.

"I would be very disappointed if that does not happen by the end of this decade."

Uber is set to launch electric passenger flights in Dubai this year that can be booked on the Uber app in partnership with Joby Aviation.
