United Kingdom, July 21 -- Netflix has acquired Ben Affleck's AI start-up for $587 million.

The streaming giant first announced plans to buy InterPositive in March this year, with reports at the time suggesting they could pay up to $600 million.

Now the company has confirmed the acquisition, which was made in cash, in a new regulatory filing.

As part of the deal, Affleck is joining Netflix as a senior advisor, although financial terms related to this haven't been disclosed.

InterPositive was launched back in 2022 by Hollywood star Affleck, with the goal of letting filmmakers use its AI tools to improve footage in post-production.
