United Kingdom, Oct. 10 -- Apple's long-rumoured foldable iPhone is reportedly going to use a hybrid titanium and aluminium frame to improve durability while keeping the device lightweight.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is experimenting with a titanium outer shell reinforced by aluminium components in key structural areas.

The combination would allow for greater flexibility around the hinge mechanism - one of the biggest engineering challenges for foldable devices - while ensuring the phone remains strong enough to withstand repeated folding cycles.

The new design is reportedly being developed by Apple's mechanical engineering and materials teams, with prototypes already in testing.
