United Kingdom, July 24 -- Elon Musk has urged the public to embrace the accelerating development of artificial intelligence, suggesting that, despite the risks, the future could bring "incredible abundance for all".

The SpaceX and Tesla CEO made the comments in a wide-ranging interview with The Economist, where he framed his stance on AI as a philosophical pivot after long fearing the technology's potential to threaten humanity.

Noting that his "philosophical conclusion" was to "look on the bright side", Musk said: "The most likely outcome is incredible abundance for all."
