United Kingdom, July 27 -- US President Donald Trump has vowed to launch an investigation into the European Union (EU) and threatened fresh tariffs over fines imposed on major American technology companies.

The move comes days after the European Commission fined Google €890m for allegedly abusing its market position by favouring its own services over competitors.

The EU has also investigated other US tech giants, including Apple, Meta and Amazon, under regulations designed to increase competition in digital markets.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused European regulators of unfairly targeting American businesses and demanded that fines against US companies be reversed.
