United Kingdom, Oct. 27 -- Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce ads to Apple Maps.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the company is testing an ad system for Apple Maps that would allow businesses to pay for increased visibility, similar to how promoted listings work in Google Maps.

The supposed feature is expected to roll out in select regions in 2026, beginning with the US.

Businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and retail stores could pay to appear more prominently in search results within Maps, helping users discover nearby locations while generating new revenue for Apple.

The move would represent one of Apple's most notable forays into ads outside the App Store, where it already sells sponsored placements.
