United Kingdom, Oct. 3 -- Apple has reportedly paused development on a revamped version of its Vision Pro headset to focus instead on AI-powered smart glasses.

According to Bloomberg, Apple had been working on a lighter, cheaper Vision Pro model - codenamed N100 - for release in 2027, but the company is now said to be reallocating staff to accelerate progress on smart glasses, a category it sees as more strategically important for the next decade.

Sources say Apple is developing at least two types of glasses. The first, known internally as N50, will pair with an iPhone and lack its own display, with an unveiling possible as early as 2026 ahead of a 2027 release.
