United Kingdom, Aug. 31 -- Leslie Ann Warren says Tim Curry was "struggling so very much" before his death.

The 80-year-old actress starred with Curry, who died on August 25 aged 80, in 1985's Clue and they saw each other in recent years at various reunion events for the movie's 40th anniversary.

She told PEOPLE magazine: "As much time had passed, and the awful challenges, physically, he was going through, it was as if no time had passed.

"Honestly, my last couple of personal appearances with him, he was struggling so very much, and it was so difficult for him on so many levels, emotionally, psychologically, in terms of his great talent to not be able to do what he loved to do."
