The Simpsons writer reveals what Dolly Parton was really like in studio
United Kingdom, Aug. 26 -- Dolly Parton "loved" poking fun at her own makeup on The Simpsons.
The late country icon, who died on Tuesday (25.08.26) aged 80, voiced herself in an episode of the classic animated comedy called Sunday, Cruddy Sunday in 1999, when Homer, Krusty The Clown and more end up in jail at the Super Bowl.
After the news of Dolly's death, Simpsons showrunner Mike Sully shared the clip on X and wrote: "She was a delight to direct and so naturally funny.
"She loved the joke about her make-up remover being strong enough to blow open a jailhouse door.
"I had her do a few extra unnecessary takes just to make the experience last a little longer. Brightened the day of all in room."
