United Kingdom, Aug. 4 -- Tate McRae battled "dark" thoughts after concluding her Miss Possessive Tour last year.

The 23-year-old pop star spent much of 2025 on the road before finishing the trek in November and she's now confessed she went into a downward spiral after she got home - even comparing herself to tragic poet Sylvia Plath, who spent years struggling with depression before taking her own life in 1963.

Tate told Variety: "I remember reading Sylvia Plath being like: 'I am her'. My thoughts felt so dark at the time, and I felt so lonely.

"I really needed to come back into my body and regulate my nervous system."
